Amazon has confirmed that it will no longer sell a smart device connected to the voice-controlled assistant.
The move comes amid growing interest in Amazon’s Alexa technology, which has become a staple of smart home devices, and the company’s growing involvement in the technology industry.
The Echo Dot, a smart home device designed by Amazon, was the first of its kind to make its debut last year.
It has a built-in speaker, Alexa and an app called Alexa Skills.
Amazon also said that it plans to discontinue the Echo Dot as it was no longer supported by its subscription plans.
It also said it would no longer support the Echo speaker that was already on sale for $149, though it will be able to upgrade the device to Alexa Skills, which are priced at $499.
In a statement, Amazon said that Alexa Skills “will provide users with more powerful and flexible capabilities and functionality”.
“While the Echo speakers will remain available for the Alexa family, they will be discontinued in the near future,” the statement said.
“We will continue to support Amazon’s other Alexa-powered devices such as the Fire TV Stick, Fire TV and Fire TV Mini.”
The Echo speaker was introduced by Amazon as part of the Echo brand.
The device connects to an Alexa speaker, which controls all the gadgets in the home.
“Alexa Voice Control can be used to control a wide variety of smart devices from home appliances to smart TVs and gaming systems,” Amazon said in a statement.
“The Echo speakers are an indispensable part of Amazon’s smart home experience.
Amazon’s Echo devices offer a powerful voice assistant that allows users to control many of the devices in their home with a simple touch of a button.”
Alexa and Alexa Skills are available for $499 on Amazon.com and on the App Store.
Amazon is known for its products such as Echo Dot and Echo Dot Plus, which use a voice-activated speaker to control home appliances.
The company also sells a smart speaker called Echo Dot Pro, which costs $249.
The device is connected to an Amazon Echo speaker and Alexa app.
Alexa is also available for Apple devices.
Amazon’s Alexa devices are connected to a mobile phone and can be controlled by voice commands.
Amazon launched a line of smart TVs last year, including the Alexa TV, which uses voice commands to control the television.
